The short version

Show the real photo. No staging, no filters that hide the crumb. The whole point is the honest result.
Say what you actually did. Including the part where you eyeballed the flour.
Be useful, not clever."Overproofed" plus a reason beats a one-word verdict.
Credit the recipe. Link or name the source you baked from.
No shaming a flop. The flops are the whole point of the site. It's fun, and really that's where the wisdom comes from. Sharing, experimenting, maybe even finding something you did differently came out better than you expected.

Post only what is yours to post

Post your own photos. Do not upload someone else's photograph as if it were your bake, and do not paste the full text of a copyrighted recipe. Naming a recipe, linking to it, and describing what you changed is both legal and more useful. If you believe something here infringes your copyright, our copyright page explains how to tell us.

Not allowed

Harassment, threats, or personal attacks on another baker.
Slurs and hate speech targeting anyone's race, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
Sexual content, graphic violence, or anything involving a minor in a sexualised way.
Spam, promotional posts, affiliate links, and traffic-driving posts for an unrelated business.
Posting another person's private information, or impersonating someone.
Anything unlawful, or instructions for doing something unlawful.

Photos of other people

If a person other than you appears clearly in a photo you upload, make sure they are happy to be shown here. Please do not post recognisable photos of children.

Reporting

Every post has a Report link. It goes to a queue that Honest Bread reviews. You can also email [TO BE COMPLETED: contact email].

What happens when a rule is broken

Depending on what happened, we may remove the post or comment, ask you to edit it, temporarily suspend the account, or close it. Repeated copyright infringement leads to the account being closed, as described on the copyright page. We decide these case by case and we will tell you what we did and why.
